The UnBox Studio for launching research-driven startups
Bar Ilan University’s UnBox Ventures entrepreneurship center offers the university’s researchers, students and alumni a Studio for launching impactful startups, in which over 10 startups have been established to date, in health, agriculture and energy.
We offer select founder teams pre-seed investment, IP transfer, methodical mentorship throughout product validation in the global market, preparation for fundraising, ecosystem relations, and mentors who are seasoned serial investors and entrepreneurs, all in service of the founding team to kickstart their path towards successful fundraising as a means to positive global impact.
Those seeking to launch a startup at the Studio are invited to attend a practical intro-to-entrepreneurship program, beginning in early November, 2021. At the intro program, participants learn the success factors and methods at the core of the studio, as well as how to prepare an optimal proposal to submit to the UnBox applications committee.
The Intro-to-'Entrepreneurship 101' Program
The program lasts 13 weeks, 2 sessions per week: a methodical lecture by UnBox CEO Ariel Sella introducing each of the entrepreneurship success factors, and a personal case study presented by an serial entrepreneur or investor. Additionally, participants apply self-learning via a virtual course (Udacity EP245), attend UnBox staff office hours for consultations and actively reflect on the content learned as it pertains to their startup through an online journal. During the final week of the course, participants present pitches about their startups and receive feedback from an audience comprising mentors, entrepreneurs, investors and domain experts. The course is limited to 20 participants and costs NIS 2500.
The weekly intro program sessions will take place via Zoom on Mondays and Wednesdays from 16:00 to 17:30. During the program weeks, office hours will be held in person, on the Bar Ilan University campus in Ramat-Gan, at the UnBox center, bldg. 217, floor -1. These office hours are slated for individual meetings with UnBox CEO, Ariel Sella, a serial entrepreneur, investor and entrepreneurship mentor. During these individual meetings, intro program participants are invited to analyze the feasibility of their concept and design an excellent proposal for the applications committee, selecting the participants for UnBox Studio’s 2021-2022 cohort.
